The label has been around for years, producing bands like Bo, Dictafone, and The Cold Shoulder. The music on Spozzle is deep; it rocks, it rolls, and it talks to you. Spozzle accompanies artists at their beginning and helps them to bring what they have to say to an audience that’s looking for music that grabs you, shakes you, makes you think, and then reluctantly lets you go, knowing that you’ll come back for more. The label generally specializes in English language artists, primarily those based in France.
Duncan Roberts and Dictafone
Spozzle is experimenting with new ways to find and develop young artists, placing them in regular acoustic gigs to cut their teeth and then producing co-branded EPs, allowing venues such as pub chains to help directly with young artists while benefitting from original on-site music. The label is putting together a new type of internet site for artists, creating virtual places where fans can interact with the music, the videos, and the artists themselves. This new approach will be tested with the upcoming release of Dictafone’s third album: “Home”… which has already been generating critical excitement despite being two months away from launch.
